Where To Get Help If You Live In Norfolk

If you feel unable to deal with a problem on your own, and you need to speak to someone who can offer help and assistance in a friendly and non-judgmental manner, then we're the place for you!

To see an advisor face-to-face, we offer a drop-in service at our city centre office at the Norwich Citizens Advice Bureau, St Vedast Street, Norwich, Monday to Friday 9:30am – 4pm and Saturdays from 9:30 – 1pm – or alternatively, please call 01603 660857 to make an appointment.

Parking is available in Rose Lane car park or meter parking is available on Prince of Wales Road.

If you live in Norfolk you can contact us by calling 01603 765783. All of our advice is completely free (we can call you back to save your telephone bill) and confidential.

As an alternative you can contact our Debtline service, Debtline, who provide specialist money advice to those living in Norfolk.

For clients who are eligible for Legal Help (formerly Legal Aid), the CLS Direct telephone service and CLS face to face is also provided by the bureau, at various locations for those living in Norfolk.

If you live in Norfolk and you are worried about debt, visit the Debtline website or call Debtline and speak to one of our trained advisors, who can listen to your problems and help you to develop a suitable strategy for dealing with your finances.

Norwich & District CAB is also a provider of CLS face to face advice. This service is also funded by the Legal Services Commission and meet the Specialist Quality Mark (SQM) standards for legal and advice services.

CLS Advisors (specialised in Welfare Benefits and Debt) are located at various locations in Norfolk. If your case is complex and you are eligible for Legal Help (formerly Legal Aid) you may be referred, by a CAB generalist advisor or another organisation such as Social Services, to speak to a CLS advisor.

If you are aged 13-25 year old you can visit the ASKCAB website which gives a wide range of advice online.
 

Other Sources of Help and Advice

If you live outside Norfolk, there are still a number of charities and organisations that offer free and confidential help and assistance in dealing with your queries. Remember, you should not have to pay for advice.

The Citizens Advice Bureau (or CAB) is the country’s biggest advice service. It helps people resolve their money, legal and other problems by providing free, confidential, independent and impartial advice and information, and by influencing policymakers – and with 496 offices in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, there should be a bureau close to where you live.
